With Perfect WCC Record, Women's Tennis to Host Two WCC Opponents This Weekend

Santa Clara, Calif.—The Santa Clara women's tennis team returns to the Mission Campus to compete against two West Coast Conference opponents this weekend, bringing home a perfect 2-0 record in league play. The Broncos host No. 39 Pepperdine on Friday, March 30 at 11:00 a.m. and Loyola Marymount University on Saturday, March 31 at 2:00 p.m. Both matches will take place in the Degheri Tennis Center.

Santa Clara (8-5; WCC 2-0) enters the weekend coming off a 4-3 win against first-year WCC member BYU on Tuesday. The Bronco women look to remain undefeated in conference play throughout the weekend.

No. 39 Pepperdine

Pepperdine defeated Loyola Marymount 6-1 last week. In the follow up contest at No. 55 Fresno State, Pepperdine fought to a 4-0 lead before the Bulldogs won the final three singles matches to put the final score at 4-3. It was the Waves' fourth win over a ranked team this season.

The Lions are 3-11 overall this season and 0-1 in the WCC. Last week, LMU lost to Pepperdine 6-1 and UC Santa Barbara 5-2. Before the Lions come to the Mission Campus, they compete against USF on Fri., Mar. 30.
