Santa Clara, Calif.—The Santa Clara women's tennis team plays the remaining four West Coast Conference opponents of the season before traveling to San Diego, Calif. for the WCC Championships April 26-28. This weekend the Broncos compete against University of San Diego on Fri., Apr. 13 at 11 a.m. and against Bay Area Rival No. 39 Saint Mary's College on Sun., Apr. 15 at 11:00 a.m.

The Broncos (9-8; 2-2 WCC) took a break from WCC competition last week when they beat New Mexico State 5-2 and then lost to No. 6 Stanford 7-0. As they play against the remaining four WCC teams, Santa Clara hopes to finish its season on a high note and solidify a high seed for the WCC Championships.

Katie Le is currently ranked No. 41 by the ITA (April 10). The WCC Player of the Month in March, Le is the highest ranked singles player in the WCC.  She is also the second-highest ranked mid-major singles player in the country.

University of San Diego

The Toreros are 8-8 overall and 4-1 in the WCC. Last week, San Diego lost to Pepperdine 7-0 and then beat LMU by a score of 6-1. Top singles player for the Toreros, Anna Depenau, is ranked No. 117 by the ITA with a 12-4 dual record this season. San Diego will also play University of San Francisco and Saint Mary's after the Bronco match.

Saint Mary's

The No. 39 Gaels enter this weekend after No. 35 Pepperdine ended their seven-game winning streak, beating them 5-2 last week. One of Saint Mary's top players, Jenny Jullien, is currently ranked No. 90 by the ITA. The Gaels are 12-6 this season and 5-1 against WCC opponents.
