FRESNO, Calif. - The 19th-ranked Santa Clara volleyball team defeated Fresno State in four games tonight at the North Gym.
The 15-9, 15-13, 9-15, 15-10 victory improves the Broncos' record to 11-1 on the season. Senior Ynez Carrasco led the team with 18 kills and 19 digs, while junior Jami Bari added her own double-double with 16 kills and 15 digs. Senior Brook Terhune led the Broncos defensively, posting five of the team's 11 blocks.
The Bulldogs fall to 7-6. Fresno State was led by Malia Malu, with a match-high 20 digs.
Earlier in the day, Santa Clara defeated Southeast Missouri State 15-6, 15-8, 15-8.
Santa Clara begins its West Coast Conference season at Gonzaga next Friday, Sept. 29. The match will begin in Spokane, Wash., at 7 p.m.
