SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Today, Bronco volleyball announces the first member of its incoming freshman class for 2016-17, Michelle Gajdka. She currently attends International High School in San Francisco.

"I chose SCU because I wanted to attend a school that has both excellent athletics and academics," Gajdka said. "Staying close to home is also very important to me, so having Santa Clara only 40 minutes away is absolutely perfect."

Gajdka and the Jaguars went 17-11 under head coach Leo Fung in 2015. They swept Sonoma Academy in the first round of the CIF NCS Tournament.

The 5-foot-8-inch prospect was named MVP of her varsity team in all four years of high school. The Jaguars reached the playoffs during all four of those seasons.

"Michelle is one of the better all-around players we have coming in," Bronco head coach Jon Wallace said. "From passing to attacking to defense, she can solidify a couple of different positions for us."

Gajdka has attended USA Junior Nationals for six straight years going back to her first club season.

Outside of volleyball, Gajdka enjoys running, drawing, driving and dancing. She is a member of her high school's Peer Counselor Group.

Tomorrow's future Bronco is Allison Kantor.
