SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Today, Bronco volleyball announces the fourth member of its incoming freshman class for 2016-17, Callie Jones. She currently attends Xavier College Prep in Phoenix.

"I chose Santa Clara because it is everything I had hoped for in a college," Jones said. "I love the fact that the players and coaches have a great relationship with each other and everyone works together to achieve their goals."

Jones served as a starting setter and co-captain for head coach Lamar-Renee Bryant and the Division I AIA State runner-up Gators in 2015. Xavier Prep went 34-8 and a perfect 8-0 in Section III on its way to a section title and postseason run. The 2015 Gators finished the season ranked No. 28 in the country and No. 3 in the state by MaxPreps.

The 5-foot-9-inch prospect earned Arizona Division I All-Section First Team and All-State Honorable mention honors in 2014. Jones won an indoor state championship with the Gators as a sophomore in 2013 and a sand volleyball state championship as a freshman in 2012.

"Callie comes from a great high school winning tradition," Bronco head coach Jon Wallace said. "She has a great skill set, and will step into our gym and make it better immediately."

Jones also won the 2014 Girls 17 Open Championship and the 2013 Girls Junior National Qualifier 16 Championship during club season in the USA Volleyball Arizona Region.

She is involved in several clubs and activities on campus, including membership in the National Honor Society. The soon-to-be Bronco enjoys music, travel and hiking.

Tomorrow's future Bronco is Taylor Laugero.
