Water Polo Rebounds;  Wins Two in Final Day of The Bronco

Santa Clara, Calif. - The Broncos rebounded from a winless day one at the Bronco Tournament, winning both games on Sunday. Santa Clara beat Colorado State 11-9 and then defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 12-10 at the Sullivan Aquatic Center on the Santa Clara University campus. 

Other scores from the day: Hawaii beat Cal State East Bay 16-5, UCSD downed Cal State Monterey Bay 12-6, Hawaii outmatched Colorado State 18-7, and UCSD beat Cal State East Bay 12-10.

In the morning game, the Broncos saw Alison Norris score three goals and Claire Eadington and Ashleigh Bandiemere add two apiece to lead Santa Clara to the 11-9 victory over the visiting Rams. Kaitlin Murphy and Julia Peters each scored one to round out the 11. 

Colorado State had three goals each from Stephanie Weed, Shelby Schaefer and Ariel Arcidiacono. 

In goal for the Broncos, June Afshar had seven saves and Rams goalie Melissa Fisher recorded eight. 

In the final game of the day, Santa Clara had two goals from Murphy, Eadington, Julia Peters, Jenny Anderson and Makena Pezzuto. Elizabeth Anderson and Erin Sheridan each had one apiece.

In goal for Santa Clara, Stephanie Clements recorded eight saves.

The Otters saw goals from Alex Tyrrell, Christina Keller, Julie Cooper and Kylie Fields. In net for Monterey Bay, Amanda Jennings recorded six saves and Paige Robinson had three.
