FRESHMAN (2011): Started 43 games as a freshman, seeing time at catcher, outfielder and DH…hit .244 and was tied for the team-best in triples (1)…posted an on-base percentage of .320… started his first career game on Opening Day at South Carolina Feb. 19…pinch-hit and played catcher at South Carolina (4/20)…amassed eight hits, four RBI and five runs in a four-game series with Albany Feb. 25-27…scored two runs at Stanford Mar. 1…singled and score a run in a three-game series against San Jose State…singled in a mid-week game at Cal (3/8)…registered four hits, a double and a walk in the Jack Gifford Memorial Tournament Mar. 11-13, while making his first career start in the outfield (3/11)…recorded a hit, two RBI and a run in the series opener with Brown on Mar. 26...went a combined 1-5 with two RBI, a hit by pitch and two runs in a doubleheader against Brown (3/27)…singled twice in the series finale against Brown (3/28)…went 1-4 at Stanford on Mar. 22…singled against UC Davis Mar. 30…recorded one hit and two sacrifice bunts in a three-game series against Bakersfield Apr. 1-3…had one hit in a three-game series against LMU (4/8-4/10)…singled in a mid-week game against Cal Poly…singled and scored a run in the series-opener at Saint Mary’s…provided two hits, including a double against Saint Mary’s on Apr. 17…had three plate appearances against Stanford (4.19)…amassed three hits, a walk, a sacrifice and a run in a three-game series at USF Apr. 21-23…started his first game at catcher since Apr. 12 against Gonzaga (5/1)…provided a single, two runs and a walk in the three-game series at Pepperdine...started at catcher during a mid-week game at UC Davis (5/11)…walked and stole a base in the first game of a three-game series vs.  San Diego (5/20)…tallied two hits and scored a run in a start vs.  San Diego on May 21…appeared as a pinch-runner in the series finale vs.  San Diego…picked up an RBI at Portland in his final start of the season on May 27.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball and football at Rampart High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. for Adam Strah (baseball) … in 2009 helped his team to a 20-3 record with a state semifinal appearance … in 2010 helped team to a 16-5 record … two-time first-team all-area and All-Metro League catcher … two-time all-state honorable mention… recorded a .515 batting average his senior year while posting four HR and 26 RBI … named all-league in football as a wide receiver and safety his senior year.

PERSONAL: Son of Greg and Roshelle Looney … has a younger brother, Brad… his father, Greg, is a U.S. naval officer… uncle, Geoff, played baseball at University of Nevada-Las Vegas… enjoys watching movies, playing volleyball, and running… majoring in Civil Engineering.
