Varsity 8 Win Highlights Men's Rowing at WIRAs

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Santa Clara men's rowing wrapped-up its time at WIRAs Sunday with the Varsity 8 winning the grand final.

"The men's team had a very good day at the WIRA Championship this weekend. A number of guys had multiple races and gained valuable racing experience. The win in the Varsity 8 was a hard fought race and our guys established early and held off a late charge by UC Irvine and UCLA. Our 2V8 also had a solid race and was able to hold off Gonzaga for the win. We had two freshmen - Dan Pruin and Elliott Clyde win the pair event to top off the event for us. We are really proud of the guys but know there is significant work left as we prepare for Western Sprints and a chance for a trip to the IRA National Championship Regatta."
