Day 10 (July 6) - Lets Go to London

There are not many cities that can rival London.  From the history to the culture, the diversity to its worldly influence, London has so much to explore.

Two stops on a traditional red double decker bus had us at the train station.  Into London we went and were ready for the cruise down the River Thames.  We started at the Tower of London and finished at Big Ben.

From there the boys scattered to the far reaches of the city to find retro jerseys, grab lunch and see the sights.  Stamford Bridge, the Emirates, Cravens Cottage were a couple stadiums to visit and Borough Market, Piccadilly Circus, Harrods were a couple shopping districts to check out.

The guys were on their own to find their way back to the hotel for a 6:15 p.m. departure into Egham, sight of our last clash of the tour.

It was a good local side who sat in and were happy to counter.  Jack Civitts scored for the third match in a row to give us the lead.  Once they equalized halftime was upon us.

A great header from Josh Dabora and we once again we once again went ahead. Unfortunately, we conceded and despite some clear looks the match ended in a draw.  Out of four matches, we went 3-0-1 and got a good head start on the season.

Pizza and packing back at the hotel and we were readying ourselves for the long trip home.

Day 11 (July 7) - All Good Things Must Come to an End

Looking back at the trip we accomplished a great deal.  While the matches provided some early looks on the season, it was the bonding and experiences that we will carry with us.  There will be stories to tell, pictures to share and memories to hold on to.

The guys were great on the trip but a huge thanks also goes out to the staff for supporting all the twists and turns - Merz (associate athletic director of compliance Ryan Merz), Yamo (associate head coach), Riley (assistant coach Riley Hanley), Andreu and Murph (graduate assistants Andreu Cases Mundet and Jack Murphy), and Giann from Vertex just to start.  Sports medicine's Alison Barahona, Mike Bowes from sports performance, Dr. Saglimbeni from West Coast Orthopedic, the SCU Mums & Co. all made it a trip to remember.

I would be remiss if I didn't thank all the donors who gave so generously to make this possible, especially those in London and Las Vegas among many other places.

My final shout out is to members of Operation Fulham.

Cheers and let's Go Broncos!
