Head Coach Michelle Bento-Jackson
On the game:
"I'm really proud of how many players came out and competed for 40 minutes. There were some defensive mistakes that need to be fixed, but it was a great team effort."
On the loss of momentum in the middle of the first half:
"We started off with a punch and lots of intensity. We defended well and really set the tone for the game. I believe, because of our defense, we put Boise State on their heels at the start. But the first half was up and down on both ends and I think we just started to lighten up a bit."
On the point surge in the second half:
"We had a lot of open shots and we hit a majority of them. We gained the momentum again on our offensive end and were able to exploit their defense a bit."
On Jen Gottschalk's game-high performance:
"Jen has been a consistent player for us from day one. She has an attitude of determination this year and I believe her teammates are feeding off that. To score 28 points in only 30 minutes out on the court is pretty special."
On Elizabeth Doran:
"At the beginning, Liz had some tremendous plays for us. She took chances and earned a couple of steals. We challenged her on that tonight and she definitely stepped up and produced."
On the significance of tonight's win:
"Our win tonight is only as good as we play in Alaska. We need to keep the momentum going and carry that through the tournament up there."
