Women's Golf Finishes Day One of Peg Barnard Classic

STANFORD, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's golf team finished play in the first round of the Peg Barnard Collegiate Tournament hosted by Stanford University Saturday afternoon at the Stanford Golf Course.

Head coach Polly Schulze had a method behind her madness in taking the Broncos to one of the finest collegiate tournaments in the nation.

"I wanted our girls to see what it was like to be at the elite level, to play against teams with National Championships," said Schulze. "I hope that we learned a lot today and that will hopefully carry over to future tournaments with us."

The Broncos will conclude play in the Peg Barnard on Saunday morning at teh 6,168 yard par-72 Stanford Golf Course. Following that the Broncos will play in the West Coast Conference Championships on Monday and Tuesday, April 15-16.
