Stockton, Calif. - In the second game of their double header, Santa Clara lost 9-1 in five innings to Pacific. Kaitlyn Rauschnot earned her second loss of the day after pitching three innings the game before.

The Broncos started off the game with two hits from Noelani Ho'opi'i and Maggie Godfrey, but were unable to bring anyone in to score. In the bottom of the first, Rauschnot gave up five hits, a walk, and hit two batters, scoring five runs. Jackie Morales would come in to pitch with one out in the first inning and closed out the inning with just one more run coming in to score.

Morales then held Pacific scoreless for the next three innings on just two hits. In the top of the fifth, Santa Clara plated their only run of the game when Morales singled with two outs and Shelby Gibbs brought her in with an RBI double to bring the score to 6-1.

In the bottom of the inning, the Broncos gave up three quick errors and a walk which brought in two runs. Morales managed to get one out, but an RBI single ended the game as Pacific went up 9-1.

Morales gave up just three hits and no earned runs in her four innings of work. Ho'opi'i went 2-for-3, making her 3-for-4 on the day. The Broncos six hits were spread out throughout the game. "They were just untimely hits," said head coach Lisa Mize. "We couldn't string them together."

Santa Clara will play Friday and Saturday against Arizona State. They will play one game on Friday night at 7 p.m. and a double-header on Saturday starting at noon.
