Santa Clara Softball Hosts Hawaii at Home Wednesday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara (9-41, 5-7 PCSC) will have a busy week this week with six games in five days. The Broncos will start out with a home double-header on Wednesday against visiting No. 24 Hawaii (31-14) starting at 2 p.m. at Marsalli Park. Then the team will travel to Sacramento State to take on the Hornets (24-19, 6-6 PCSC) in two double-headers on Saturday and Sunday starting at noon.

Last Week

The Broncos split their third conference series of year against San Diego 2-2 for the weekend. Santa Clara won the first game of the series 5-4, lost the second and third 9-5 and 5-3, then evened things up with a 1-0 victory to end the weekend.

Notes

Rauschnot Catches Fire
Kaitlyn Rauschnot got her first two wins of the year this weekend against San Diego, including the team's second shutout of the year. Rauschnot was 2-1 for the weekend with a 3.00 ERA. In her two wins, she pitched a combined 12 innings and did not allow a single run in those games.

Homerun Saturday
Noelani Ho'opi'i and Amanda Edmonson both homered in consecutive games on Saturday. Ho'opi'i is now tied for the team lead with four homeruns after her two-run shot with Edmonson close behind with three after her shot in the first game of the weekend. That three-run bomb also helped catapult Edmonson to the team lead in RBI.

PCSC Standings
The Broncos currently sit in fifth place in the PCSC with a 5-7 record, just three games out of first place that is within reach with eight games to go in the conference.
