2012 Season Recap: Played in 48 sets and earned 33 digs and three blocks

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2012: Had five digs and four service aces against Montana State (Aug. 25) … collected two assists and seven digs against Brown (Sep. 15) … had 12 digs, hitting .250 against Cal State Fullerton (Sep. 15) ...had three digs and one kill against Sacramento State (Oct. 16) ... had one kill and one dig at BYU (Nov. 10) ... earned one dig at Saint Mary's (Nov. 17).

HIGH SCHOOL:  Attended Santa Barbara High School where she played volleyball for coach John Gannon … in 2009 helped her team to a semi-final appearance in the CIF Championships … named First Team All-Channel League in 2010 and 2011 … honored as Santa Barbara High School’s Best All-Around Female Athlete during her senior season in 2012 … helped her team to a fourth place finish at the Santa Barbara TOC during her senior campaign.

CLUB EXPERIENCE: Played for the Santa Barbara Smack 18U team during 2011, winning the gold medal in the 18U American Junior National in Atlanta, Ga. … Santa Barbara team ranked third in SCVA with an overall record of 40-11 during the 2012 season … won a bronze medal at the Junior Olympics during 2009 where she was named to the All-Tournament team at the Junior Olympics.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Steve and Suzie Rottman … has three sisters: Emily (20), Alexis (15) and Charlotte (born Jan., 2012) … father, Steve, played volleyball at USC and on the AVP Tour … sister, Emily, plays volleyball at the University of Virginia … uncle, David, played volleyball at UCSB … aunt, Julie, played volleyball at LMU … enjoys the beach, baking, traveling, politics and hiking … active with the Dream Foundation … majoring in business... chose Santa Clara for the perfect combination of strong academics and an established volleyball program.   

WHY SHE CHOSE SANTA CLARA: I chose Santa Clara because of the perfect combination of strong academics and it was an established volleyball program. Once I went on my visit to the campus I knew that it was the right place for me. Also, all of the girls on the team were very inviting and made me realize that Santa Clara is where I want to be.
