The Santa Clara men's cross country team topped WCC foes USF and Saint Mary's to finish as the runner-up to host UC Davis at the Doc Adams Invitational in Davis, Calif. on Sat., Oct. 3.
The men were led by Evan Hennessey, who finished fifth overall at 25:33. Chris Mosier was in eighth at 26:06, Brian Fischer was 11th at 26:16, Travis Peterson was 12th at 26:28 and Matt Savage rounded out the top five scorers for the Broncos, finishing in 19th place at 26:44.
"It was a great race for the men. They ran well and it was a good experience for them," said Bronco Associate Head Coach Felipe Montoro. "We will continue training with our sites set on competing well at the WCC Championships in November."
Erin McCarthy was the lone Bronco female, finishing at 22:13 and crossing the line in fourth place.
Santa Clara hosts the Bronco Invitational on Sat., Oct. 17 at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Calif.
