Santa Clara Head Coach Dick Davey
"Gonzaga has a very good team and when they have things going their way they are hard to beat. We aren't as healthy as we would like to be, but we are getting better. We aren't as mature as we would like to be, but our players are getting more experienced as the season progresses. Our guys worked hard tonight, particularly coming back from late in the game.
"Travis (Niesen) isn't quite as healthy as he needs to be and he really hasn't practiced much in the last two weeks. Sean (Denison) has practiced a little more and his foot has progressed well so we wanted to give him a chance to start. Travis is getting better, but he isn't 100 percent. Once he gets in the game, his competitive juices get flowing a bit and he feels better. But, he'll stiffen up a bit afterwards. We'll see how he feels Monday at Portland and go from there.
"Gonzaga has about as good of a team as they have had here. They have a player who is the complete package in Adam Morrison and he has a cast of very talented characters around him."
