"We thought our kids played hard. We thought Saint Mary's played hard. They made a few more baskets than we did and really that's the essence of the game. It was a really hard fought game and I'm very proud of our guys for the effort and energy they put into it.
(About Kaempf) "He's got a great knack for shooting the basketball and if you give him a bit of room he could cause problems for you. I was excited that he made the three because that meant we could keep playing.
(About Kickert's performance) "The issue wasn't picking an individual and try to stop the issue was trying to stop them. Even though we lost the game, except for a few get away from us a few times down the lane, we played the D like how we wanted to play against them. I thought we did a good job. We didn't focus on him but he didn't take a lot of shots. It's hard to score a lot of points if you don't take a lot of shots or some shots. Or maybe Morrison can deny that."

"This is the kind of game we thought it would be. It was a tough game, I thought we had chances to close it out, that's kind of been how we've been all year is that we haven't done a great job closing out teams but at the same time we find a way to win those games. Our guys are resilient, they are scrappy. We have to get smarter and a little bit better but I'm proud how they've always been able to bounce back under adverse situations and keep their composure and stay together and find a way to win.
(on Santa Clara) "They always do a good job with Daniel so some other guys had to step up and make baskets for us.
(on #14) "I didn't think he'd hurt us like that. He hit some tough shots and I credit him and I credit Santa Clara, they did a good job. He hit a big shot to send us to over time

(On the play of SCU's Joey Kaempf) "He's a great shooter, put him on the floor. He did well in this game for them.
"I think everyone is confident right now, I think there are a lot of guys playing good right now. Just shows you don't need to be a scorer to be a good player (on minimal scores by Kickertt)."
