Santa Clara Begins Four-Game Homestand Against Alabama A&M
The Santa Clara University men's soccer team will host the Alabama A&M Bulldogs Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in Buck Shaw Stadium, opening a four-game homestand that will end on September 26 against California.

All-Time Series versus Alabama A&M
The Broncos and the Bulldogs have met two previous times entering Saturday night's match, with Santa Clara holding the all-time series advantage at 1-0-1. The two teams first met in 1990, playing to a 0-0 tie in Buck Shaw Stadium. They met again just two seasons ago, again in Buck Shaw, with the Broncos coming away with a 1-0 win on September 8. Current senior Jamil Walker scored the lone goal in that game for Santa Clara, it was his second goal in as many games to begin his Bronco career as a sophomore transfer.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Alabama A&M enters the week with a 3-0-1 record, having defeated IUPUI, IPFW and Vanderbilt to open the season, and after tying Wright State in Dayton, Ohio. The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents by a 14-6 count including shutouts of IUPUI and Vanderbilt. Eugene Sepuya leads the way for the Bulldogs, having scored five goals in the first four games, including two in the 3-0 win over Vanderbilt. Adboe Manneh trails closely behind for the goals lead on team, scoring three goals in the first three games including two in the 4-0 win over IUPUI. James Ssemambo and Andrew Jjombwe split time between the pipes for Alabama A&M.

WCC Has Four Teams Ranked in Top-25
The West Coast Conference, which sent five of its seven teams to the NCAA Tournament in 2001, has four teams ranked in one of the three national polls for the week of September 9. San Diego has the highest ranking at No. 9 in the Soccer America poll, while Portland comes in at No. 15 and Santa Clara at No. 25. Loyola Marymount currently has the No. 20 ranking in the NSCAA/adidas poll.

Up Next for the Broncos: Santa Clara/adidas Classic
The 25th-ranked Santa Clara University men's soccer team will host its annual Santa Clara/adidas Classic next weekend in Buck Shaw Stadium. The tournament will be held on Thursday, September 19th and Saturday, September 21st. Thursday's games will feature San Francisco and Cal State Fullerton in the 5 p.m. game, followed by Santa Clara and San Jose State at 7:30 p.m. Saturday will feature only one game between the Broncos and the Titans of Cal State Fullerton. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday night for the tournament finale.
