SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Sophomore forward Keith DeVey scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute as the 19th-ranked Santa Clara men's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over the West Coast Conference's first-place team, Loyola Marymount. With the victory, SCU improves to 14-5-0 on the year and 7-4-0 in conference play as it heads into its final regular season match.

"I am very happy with our effort and the result tonight," said head coach Cameron Rast. "That is a very strong combination when you are heading into the playoffs. Loyola Marymount is a playoff caliber team. Tonight, we showed we are as well."

DeVey's goal was scored at the 88:03 mark in the match. From five yards out, the Kula, Hawaii native placed his shot to the right of LMU goalkeeper Robert Flores to post the game-winner. The score was the fourth on the season for DeVey and his second game-winner. Medhi Ballouchy assisted on the score with his team-high eighth assist of the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Christopher Moreo made his first collegiate start in the contest as he recorded a shutout in his first full match. The shutout is the 10th of the season for the Bronco defense.

The Broncos will conclude their regular season on Sunday with a 3:00 p.m. match against San Diego. Seniors Kent Harkness, Jason Pan and Will Weatherly will each be honored prior to the start of the contest.
