No. 11 Santa Clara Falls To No. 7 Pacific, 14-7

The No. 11 Santa Clara men's water polo team fell to No. 7 Pacific this evening, 14-7, in the Broncos final away game of the season.  The Broncos drop to 17-11 with the loss and will be back in their own pool at the Sullivan Aquatic Center tomorrow to take on No. 9 Loyola Marymount at 1 p.m.

Freshman Tucker Carlson had one of his best nights of the season in terms of goal production, scoring four including three in the fourth quarter.  Also scoring for Santa Clara was senior Stephen Hobbs and juniors Daley Meistrell and James Case.  Junior goalie Michael Wishart played three quarters, while sophomore John Nash played the fourth quarter.

The Tigers took a large, 5-1 lead into the second quarter.  The Pacific lead was extended to six goals, 8-2, by halftime.

In the third quarter, the Broncos matched the Tigers with two goals each to put the score at 10-4.  Pacific scored their final four goals in the fourth quarter while Carlson scored three.
