SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's basketball program will produce Internet-only radio broadcasts for the remainder of the season, the athletics department announced earlier this month, marking the first time that the Lady Broncos have used Internet-only media coverage.
Broadcasts began with Santa Clara's 78-49 defeat of Columbia on Jan. 2. The Broncos' remaining five home games during the regular season, as well as six selected road contests, can be found at www.santaclarabroncos.com.
Dan Harrington is in his first season as the voice of the Lady Broncos. Additionally, former Bronco team manager Anthony Barnes will add color commentary for selected games. The webcasts will include a pre-game interview with Bronco head coach Chris Denker, and a post-game interview with the "Santa Clara Player of the Game."
Access to the webcasts requires RealPlayer, a program that can be downloaded free on www.santaclarabroncos.com. Just click on the Audio/Video link to the left on the home page and follow instructions.
Fans can also follow statistical action live on the Internet, as the Broncos began offering live stats via the web during the Santa Clara's Dec. 27 loss to Maryland.
The Broncos are currently 11-3 overall, 2-0 in the WCC, and have won four straight and eight of their last nine. Although Santa Clara is playing on the road this weekend, it won't be traveling far, as the team plays at Saint Mary's on Friday, January 19th at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Broncos travel to San Francisco for a 7 p.m. game that will be televised live on BayTV.
