MORAGA, Calif.- Freshman point guard Corrie Mizusawa scored a career-high 17 points to lead St. Mary's to a 79-76 win over Santa Clara on Friday night.
The win vaulted the Gaels (14-2, 3-0) into first place in the West Coast Conference, while the Broncos (11-4, 2-1) dropped one game off the pace.
Mizusawa, whose last-minute three-pointer gave St. Mary's its first lead of the second half, also had six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Katie Davis scored 16 points for the Gaels and Jermisha Dosty had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Davis banked in a three-pointer from the side with 1:22 showing that cut the lead to two, and after a Jerkisha Dosty free throw, Mizusawa buried her three to give the Gaels a lead they never lost.
