"Obviously, that was a good win for us. We have been working on some things in practice and I was really pleased the girls came out and applied the things we had practiced. We showed some improvement. We have kind of been playing ugly lately. Even though we beat Providence the other night, it was sloppy. But, we banked on our defense a little bit and played pretty good. Tonight we actually scored some points. We shot 55 percent, although we are normally a 55 percent shooting team. In my eight years here, I have never had a team shoot as poorly as we have to start the season. Normally, we are in the top-20 in the nation and we are shooting 35 percent. Tonight was finally a break-out night for us.
"I was happy with our balance. We had four in double figures and Sorenson had nine off the bench. Becki had 13 assists. That's how I like our team to play. I like to have some balance.
"Our shot selection and our decision-making hasn't been really good up until now. It was improved tonight, but we still had some stretches where regressed a little bit. We had some stretches where our shot selection was good and we moved the basketball a little better. We got the ball inside and we worked the ball inside-out. We got open shots for our shooters on the perimeter when they were ready. We got good looks for people and they stepped-up and made shots."
