SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Jennifer Bradley scored a career-high 17 points to lead the Santa Clara Broncos to a 85-61 win over Cal Poly Wednesday at Mott Gym in front of 238 fans.
The Mustangs fall to 5-2 with the loss, while Santa Clara improves to 5-2 on the year.
The Mustangs jumped out to a 4-0 lead less than a minute into the game. Santa Clara came back to grab a 5-4 lead two minutes later that they never rel inquished.
The Broncos held a 46-25 lead at the half, hitting 49 percent of their shots. In the second half the Mustangs cut the lead to 18 (55-37) with 15:12 left in the game on a Kristy Baker three pointer. Santa Clara answered back outscoring the Mustangs 39-36 in the second half. Santa Clara shot 55 percent for the game to the Mustangs 41 percent.
Stephanie Osorio (Oregon City, OR) had 15 points to lead the Mustangs. Caroline Rowles (West Vancouver, B.C.) and Heather Journey (Puyallup, WA) added 13 and 12 points respectively for Cal Poly.
In total, Santa Clara had four players score in double figures. Jennifer Glysson and Annie Garrison added 15 points each while Julie Butler added 10 of her own.
Cal Poly will take to the road for a game against University of Portland on Saturday while Santa Clara will travel to Sacramento State for a game on Saturday.--
