SANTA CLARA, Calif.- The Santa Clara women's tennis team swept past Cal State Bakersfield, 7-0, at Degheri Center to earn their fifth win of the season. With the win, the Broncos will increase their winning streak to four games.

Led by the duo of senior Stephanie Galainena and sophomore Ashley Pane at the No. 1 position, the doubles point came easily for the Broncos. Galainena and Pane defeated Cal State Bakersfield's Kaydee Graham and Nefeli Diamanti 8-3, while senior Myra Davoudi and sophomore Carmen Pham also won their doubles match against Charlotte Hughes and Sara Mijwel 8-1.

Freshmen Kacie Wagner and Kimmi Cox outplayed Kristi Jenkins and Veronica Dimas, 8-2, to earn their fifth consecutive win at the No. 3 doubles position.

In singles, the Broncos sweep was led by Galainena, who defeated Diafanti 6-0, 6-1. Sophomore transfer Kelly Buckley earned her first collegiate win against Cal State Bakersfield's Ashlee Thorneycroft 7-5, 6-1 at the No. 6 position.

"Our job today was to focus on our game, and everyone played very well down the line," said head coach Ben Cabell. "It's always a good feeling to win every match."
