SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The Santa Clara women's tennis team earned a seventh-place finish in the WCC tournament after their early morning win against Gonzaga, 4-1.
The Broncos, originally the sixth seed, fell to Saint Mary's in the first round, 4-0, and Portland in the second round, 4-3. Gonzaga was the eighth seed in the tournament.
"It was a very close match today, the whole team stepped up to earn the win," said head coach Ben Cabell. "We had a huge performance from Carmen Pham, and she was really the clutch player for the win."
