Katelyn Zweigle is in her first year as assistant athletic director, sports medicine.She serves as the primary medical contact for baseball. 

Zweigle was previously at University of California, San Francisco where she worked in the hospital setting under Orthopedics - Orthotics and Prosthetics Department from 2020-22. She holds certifications for Orthotic Fitter as well as Orthotic Assistant under the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics. She specialized in pediatric orthotics during her time at UCSF working in a multidisciplinary setting amongst various other clinicians throughout the hospital. 

Prior to her time at UCSF, Zweigle was at Boston University 2019-20 and worked primarily with women's ice hockey. She also saw patients in other panels from other varsity sports, club sports, and ROTC. While at BU Zweigle assisted in the Sports Medicine Clinic working alongside the sports medicine physician and fellow. 

During 2017-19, Zweigle pursued her Doctorate in Athletic Training at Indiana State University while providing primary medical care for baseball and secondary medical care for the cheer and dance team. Zweigle was a preceptor to both bachelor and master athletic training students. Additionally, she guest lectured in the Master of Athletic Training program. At the completion of her doctorate she published her research "The Workplace Experiences of Athletic Trainers in the Professional Sports Setting" in The Sports Journal.

Prior to Zweigle's time in Indiana she worked in the minor league with the San Francisco Giants from 2015-16. She interned with the Sacramento River Cats, the AAA Affiliate, in 2015 and then the Arizona Rookie League in 2016. Zweigle also has experience as an athletic trainer in the secondary setting and junior college setting during her off seasons from professional baseball. 

Zweigle earned her Baccalaureate Degree from Sacramento State in Athletic Training. In addition to her education, she currently holds multiple credentials in the field of sports medicine. Some of these credentials and trainings include: Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC), First- Aid/CPR/AED, Corrective Exercise Specialist (National Academy of Sports Medicine), Performance Enhancement Specialist (National Academy of Sports Medicine), Graston Technique, Certified Orthotic Assistant (American Board for Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics), Certified Orthotic Fitter (American Board for Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics).
 
Zweigle is a native to the Bay Area. When not working she enjoys pilates, golf, volleyball, snowboarding, spending time on the lake and most importantly quality time with her family and friends.
