SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara track & field is set for a slate of distance events at Saturday's Oxy Collegiate Invitational at Bill Henry Track. Seven Broncos — three on the women's side and four on the men's side — will run at 5000 meters as part of the second to last race of the regular season. The Broncos will also have five runners double up at the 800m and 1500m distances.
"The Oxy meet provides us with a great competitive opportunity for this point in the season, and the fields are looking very good," Associate Head Coach Pete Cushman said. "It's one our athletes are all eager to race, and we are hoping to get some more preliminary marks. Being that we don't have a conference meet in track, this meet is timed in a way that allows us to approach it like one."
