REDSHIRT SENIOR (2019): Drafted in the 27th round (815th overall) by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft ... led the team in saves (4) and ERA (1.07) allowing just three earned runs over 25.1 innings ... struck out 32 batters and allowed just eight walks ... held opponents to an .182 batting average ... led the team in games finished for the second straight season with 17 ... second on the team with 20 appearances, all coming in relief ... did not allow an earned run in 18 of his 20 appearances ... struck out at least one batter in 19 appearances ... struck out a season-high four batters against CSU Bakersfield (March 3).  

REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2018): Made 19 appearances, all out of the bullpen ... posted a 2-4 record and five saves with a 5.68 ERA ... struck out 32 batters in 25.1 innings ... picked up first save as a Bronco against Wake Forest (Feb. 23) pitching 2.1 scoreless innings while striking out four ... recorded a save in three consecutive saves (Feb. 25 - March 3) vs Wake Forest, Nevada and Utah ... did not allow an earned run in the first nine appearances to open up the season, spanning 11 innings ... struck out a season-high five batters at Sacramento State (March 10) over two scoreless innings ... did not allow a home run the entire season ... led the team in saves with 5 ... fourth on the team in appearances with 19 ... led the team in games finished with 13 ... had a 2.29 strikeout to walk ratio (32 strikeouts to 14 walks) for the second best ratio on the team.  

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2017): Made 16 appearances on the mound for SCU with 11 starts ... posted a 3-9 record with a 4.48 ERA in 82.1 innings pitched ... struckout 71 batters while walking 39 ... earned the win against then-No. 12 Washington (Feb. 18) in the second game of the season as he threw 5.0 innings and allowed five hits and two earned runs while striking out nine batters ... recorded the win at Loyola Marymount (April 7) by throwing 6.0 innings with five hits and three earned runs allowed while he fanned seven batters ... had arguably the best outing of his career against San Francisco (April 21) as he earned the win by throwing 8.0 innings, allowing six hits, two earned runs and struck out four hitters with zero walks ... followed up that performance with another strong outing at Pepperdine (April 29) in a game that the Broncos ended up winning as he threw 7.0 scoreless innings with five strikeouts.

SOPHOMORE (2016): Did not pitch ... spent the year recovering from offseason Tommy John surgery.

FRESHMAN (2015):  Made 12 appearacnes and 10 starts ... went 4-4 with a 4.42 ERA, 23 strikeouts and 22 walks in 53.0 innings … logged the most innings by a Bronco freshman ... entered the weekend rotation against San Francisco on April 4 and made seven straight weekend starts ... opponents hit .294 against Lex ... started and pitched 4.0 innings his collegiate debut at UC Davis Feb. 17 … struck out two in one inning vs. Eastern Michigan March 1 (Game 2 of a doubleheader) … pitched one scoreless inning vs. No. 30 San Diego March 21 … started and gave up zero earned runs in 5.0 innings with two strikeouts to pick up his first career win at Grand Canyon March 24 … started and struck out three in 4.0 shutout innings and recorded a win vs. No. 26 Nevada March 30 … started and struck out one in 4.2 innings vs. San Francisco April 4 … started and recorded three strikeouts in 5.1 innings at Pepperdine April 12 … started and struck out one in 4.0 innings at No. 6 TCU April 18 (Game 2 of a doubleheader) … started and struck out one in 5.0 innings, yielded only two earned runs and recorded the win vs. Gonzaga April 25 … started and struck out three in 5.1 innings at St. Mary’s May 2 … started and pitched 7.0 innings with two strikeouts to earn the win at Portland May 9 … started and allowed no earned runs with five strikeouts in 6.2 innings vs. BYU May 15.

PRIOR TO SCU:  Graduated from Shasta High School in 2014 … played for high school coach Jim Morley … in 2013, won the CIF Northern Section Baseball Tournament … defeated Foothill High School 10-4 in the semifinal to avenge an 0-4 record against the Cougars in the regular season … started the championship game and allowed two hits through six innings to earn the winning decision as Shasta defeated Red Bluff high School 5-1 … rounded out his junior season with a 4-2 record and 69 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched while hitting .300 at the plate … in summer 2013, went 5-2 with a 1.01 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 35.6 innings pitched.

PERSONAL: Son on Mark and Karen Lex … has three older siblings, Elizabeth, Michael and Sarah … brother, Michael, played collegiate tennis at Olivet Nazarene … hobbies include swimming, basketball and ceramics … volunteers at a homeless kitchen and a church youth group … career goals include becoming a Major League Baseball pitcher as well as pursuing a job in business or economics.
