SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Apparently lightning does strike twice in the same place.

For the second-straight week Santa Clara University junior Keith DeVey was selected as the West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after scoring twice for the Broncos last weekend.

A native of Kula, Hawai'i, DeVey scored twice in fourth-ranked Santa Clara's 4-0 win over previously undefeated Georgetown in the Maryland adidas Classic, hosted by the Terrapins at Ludwig Field in College Park, Md. He also added an assist on SCU's goal against Maryland.

DeVey narrowly missed scoring a third goal during the tourney when he redirected a pass from Mehdi Ballouchy, but was only able to deflect it wide of the goal in the second half of SCU's 3-1 loss at the fifth-ranked Terrapins on Friday night.

Last week Soccer America Magazine, College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer all recognized DeVey's achievements in naming him to their national teams of the week. Earlier in the week DeVey was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week.

Santa Clara is 3-1 on the season and ranked seventh in this week's Soccer America poll. The Broncos play their home opener Friday at 8 p.m. against local rival Stanford at Buck Shaw Stadium. In the first game of a doubleheader, the fourth-ranked SCU women's team will host third-ranked UCLA at 5:30 p.m.
