ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's golf team finished their fall season with a 7th place finish at the Firestone Grill Cal Poly Invitational. Samantha Trask and Corey Utsurogi turned in final round scores of 77 to help the Broncos maintain their position in the field of 19 teams. Santa Clara finished with a combined score of 646 (322, 324).

For the second straight day, Santa Clara was led by senior Samantha Trask, who shot a final round of 77 and finished tied for 7th place individually. Junior Corey Utsurogi had a fantastic final round as well, rebounding from her first round of 82 to shoot 77, and finishing tied for 22nd place. Junior Jenny Nelson also improved in her final round, turning in an 82 after a first round 85.

Junior Jennifer Sun had a tough day, turning in a final round of 90, and senior Megan Stoddart finished with an 88, just two strokes above her first round 86.

Santa Clara also had two individual finishers. Freshman Erin Sullivan finished tied for 31st after her final round of 82, and Jamie Nonaka's final round of 85 tied her for 56th place.

With the fall season now complete for Santa Clara, the team will look forward to kicking off their spring season on Monday, February 12, 2006 at the UC Riverside Invitational.
