Women’s Tennis Loses 5-2 To Cal State Fullerton
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis lost to Cal State Fullerton, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon at Degheri Tennis Center.  
 
Cal State Fullerton (8-2) clinched the doubles point on court No. 2 behind Masako Makiba and Genevieve Zeidan's 6-3 win over the Bronco pair of Elvena Gevargiz and Zeina El Tawil.  
 
The Broncos (2-5) got to within 3-2 in the match when Gevargiz and Maddie Pothoff won their singles matches.  Gevargiz took care of Luxizi Meng in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4 in the fourth position and Pothoff needed three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 to finish Sarah Nuno in the first position.  
 
Pothoff improved her singles record to a team best 5-1 on the season.  
 
The Titans clinched the match on court No. 5 when Caisey Lee Emery beat Giannina Ong in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.  
 
Santa Clara next plays at San Diego in the West Coast Conference opener on Friday.  First serve is at 1:30 p.m. PT.
