SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis players Madison Clarke and Maddie Pothoff garnered All-West Coast Conference honors, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Clarke and Pothoff were both named All-WCC Singles Second Team as well as All-WCC Doubles Second Team.
The all-conference voting and major awards were voted by the 10 conference head coaches.
Clarke posted a 6-6 singles record in dual match play on court one with a 1-1 conference record, missing the last five conference matches due to an injury. The junior from Phoenix was named First Team All-Conference last season.
Pothoff boasted a team best 12-5 singles record (2-4 on court one and 10-1 in court two) in dual match play. The sophomore transfer from Alabama is currently ranked No. 116 in the nation according to the Oracle/ITA Division I Women's Rankings.
The two Arizona natives partnered in doubles play to go 7-1 on court one with a 2-1 conference record.
The sixth seeded Broncos are set to play third seed Loyola Marymount in the opening round of the WCC Tournament on Thursday at 1 p.m. PT.
Regular season conference champion Pepperdine swept the major awards. Mayar Sherif was named WCC Player of the Year. Pepperdine's Evgeniya Levashova and LMU's Veronica Miroshnichenko were named co-Freshmen of the Year with the Waves' Per Nilsson taking home the Coach of the Year honors.
