AS A JUNIOR IN 1999: One of four Bronco players to play in all 32 matches, seeing action in 115 games... ranked second nationally in assists with a 14.59 per-game average... led the WCC in assists... named second team All-WCC... totaled 1,678 assists, ranking second on Santa Clara's single-season chart... finished third on the team in service aces and digs with 16 and 294, respectively... averaged 2.56 digs per game... recorded a career-best 18-dig performance at San Francisco while totaling 78 assists in the five-game match... totaled 16 digs twice in both matches against Pepperdine... also contributed 17 block assists and two block solos... helped SCU compile a school-record .500 hitting percentage against Portland on Oct. 2... named to the all-tournament team at the Amerihost-Huskie Invitational... averaged 17.30 assists per game during the tournament... tallied 67 assists against Northern Illinois, which set a school record for most assists in a three-game match... broke the school's all-time match assist record with 87 vs. Cal State Sacramento.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 1998: Established a school record for assist average at 14.33, bettering Kris Kosnoski's 1991 mark of 13.13... assist average ranked eighth nationally in the final AVCA statistics... assist total of 1,505 ranks second on the school's single-season Top 10 assist chart... now has 2,655 career assists to rank third on SCU's all-time career chart... setting skills helped SCU to a .242 hitting percentage which was the best single-season mark in school history... 83 assists vs. San Diego on Oct. 16 tied Kosnoski's single-match record, established in a five-game match vs. Loyola Marymount on Sept. 27, 1991... her 76 assists at San Diego on Nov. 14 tied the seventh highest assist total in school history.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 1997: Turned in one of the best setting seasons in school history... averaged 12.36 assists per game, the fifth-best single-season average in school history... assist total of 1,150 was the fifth best single season mark in school history... finished fourth among all WCC setters in assist average... had 70 or more assists in three of the first five matches of the year... her 76 assists vs. Texas-Arlington were the most-ever for a Bronco setter in a four game match... the figure also ranks sixth on the school's all-time match list... 73 assists vs. Weber State ranks ninth on the single-match list...averaged 15.3 assists over the first six matches of the season before spraining her ankle in practice prior to the Dan Gamel Challenge in Fresno... sat out two matches before returning for back row action against Brown, UC Irvine and Wyoming... resumed her setting duties vs. Oregon on September 24... setting skills helped Santa Clara compile a .465 hitting percentage vs. San Jose State on October 7, the second-highest hitting mark in school history.

1996 SEASON: Redshirted the season after tearing the medial collateral ligament in her left elbow.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif... set Saint Francis to three straight Central Coast Section and Santa Clara Valley Athletic League titles... Lancers won a pair of state championships (1993 and '94) in her varsity career... earned second team All-America honors as a junior and third team honors as a senior...three-time all league first team choice... all state selection in 1993... first team All CCS honoree as a junior... excellent high school student who graduated with a 3.95 grade point average... Saint Francis' Scholar Athlete of the Year... also member of the National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Born July 4, 1978... parents are Delfin and Maribeth Pelayo... majoring in combined sciences... hobbies include listening to music, camping, watching musicals and spending time with family and friends... lists A Prayer For Owen Meany as the best book she has ever read... fan of the San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants.
