SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's water pole concludes the regular season with five straight on the road and that stretch begins with Saturday's matchup against Sonoma State in Rohnert Park, California.
In their second meeting of the season, the Broncos and Seawolves (7-17) will face off at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Pool.
Santa Clara (6-16) downed Sonoma State, 8-7, on Feb. 4 behind Cathy Cantoni's late go-ahead goal and a career-high 16 saves from Francesca Puccinelli.
Last weekend, the Broncos concluded a four-game homestand by dropping a pair of Golden Coast Conference contests. The Broncos fell to Azusa Pacific, 10-9, in overtime on Friday and 6-3 to Loyola Marymount on Saturday, which served as senior day with Cantoni, Puccinelli, Blair Akerland, Kathryn Burke, Keri Clifford and Susan Providenza playing for the final time at home during the regular season.
Sonoma State is coming off a 6-5 road loss to Fresno Pacific on Saturday.
The Broncos won last year's meeting at Sonoma State, 7-6.
