Complete Bronco Invitational Results

Hosting the Bronco Invitational on a gorgeous sunny morning in the Bay Area, Santa Clara's women were ninth in the Bronco Invitational and the men, running without their top runner All-WCC runner Ben Demaree, were 13th

Cal State San Marcos won the women's Invite with Long Beach State and New Mexico State finishing  second and third, respectively.  San Francisco won the men's Invite with UC Davis and Chico State finishing second and third, respectively.

Mary Kreige finished as the top women's runner for SCU, finishing ninth.  Kevin Oliver finished as the top men's runner for SCU, finishing 18th.

"First, I want to thank all the alumni, parents and friends of the program who lended a hand," said Bronco head cross country coach Felipe Montoro.  "Without all their help, we couldn't put the meet on.  I also want to thank the head coaches who brought their teams to run here and for supporting the meet."

Montoro was also excited about the way his teams raced as well.  "I am really pleased with our collective efforts today. This was by far our best team performances of the year," added Montoro.

Kreige ran a 17:29.7 to finish ninth in the team scoring.  Allie Sibole was second for the Broncos, finishing in 18:11.4 for 45th place.  Emily Robinson was 51st at 18:15.3, finishing third for SCU.  Finishing fourth and fifth for the Broncos were Kate Yarnich (60th, 18:22.9) and Kayla Germany (18:23.7, 62nd).  Lauren Germany was 64th at 18:24.6 and Hayley Ney was 70th at 18:26.3

"The women ran great. They really executed the race plan and did extremely well," said Montoro.  "Mary ran great. Emily had a breakout race – everyone really ran well."

Oliver ran a personal best 24:30.9.  Luca Signore was 26th at 24:41.2 to finish second for the Broncos.  Bryan Crook was 58th at 25:10.1.  Finishing fourth and fifth were Ezana Tesfu (83rd, 25:27.2) and Moises Venegas (93rd, 25:33.8).  Sam Holeman was sixth at 26:07.5 (110th) and Peter Stephens was seventh (26:11.4, 111th).  Adrian Hinojosa was 148th at 26:59.5 and Matt Mosier was 149th at 26:59.6.

"On the men's side, that was Luca's best performance in a Bronco uniform to date," said Montoro.  "Kevin and Bryan both ran personal bests and that was huge.  Obviously having Ezana back was huge, especially after everything he has been through in the last year with his accident."
