The Bronco cross country teams are preparing to travel to the Northwest later this week to compete in the NCAA Cross Country West Regional.  The University of Washington is proud to host the 2012 NCAA Cross Country West Regional Championships, Friday, Nov. 9 at the Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle.  It is the first time ever Seattle has hosted the event.

The event starts at 12 pm with the women's 6,000-meter, which is followed at 1:15 pm by the men's 10,000-meter. It will be the final race of the year for the Broncos.

"I am looking forward to both teams competing this weekend," said Bronco head coach Felipe Montoro. "The NCAA West Region is one of the most competitive, if not the most competitive, region in the country and it represents a great opportunity for our student-athletes to test themselves at the highest level."

The Bronco women, led by sophomore Mary Kreige, were sixth at the West Coast Conference Championship two weeks ago.  The men, led by freshman-redshirt Bryan Crook, were seventh at the WCC.

"Both teams are looking good in practice," said Montoro. "The women are hoping to get our team time average under 22:00 and the men are looking for some redemption from the WCC meet."
