Men's Golf to Close Season at U.S. Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's golf team will close out the 2004 season as participants of the U.S. Intercollegiate, hosted by Stanford University on Saturday and Sunday at the Stanford Golf Course.

The 18-team field will play 36 holes on Saturday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Stanford GC is a par-71, 6,835-yard layout. The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday with another shotgun start (8 a.m.).

In addition to the Broncos and the host Cardinal, participating programs include Fresno State, Oregon, Oregon State, Long Beach State, UC Irvine, California, UC Riverside, San Diego, San Diego State, UCLA, San Jose State, San Francisco, Washington State, University of Texas, Portland and University of the Pacific.

UCLA won the team championship last year, firing a 12-under 840 (279-277-284) over three rounds. San Diego State's Mark Warman took top individual honors carding a seven-under 206 (71-62-73).
