Iman Scott of Bronco Women's Basketball Expected to Bring Her "A-Game" Back to the Court Soon

By, Tomomi Menjo '13

SANTA CLARA, Calif. –
Iman Scott of the Bronco women's basketball team is a San Jose local who starred at Division II powerhouse, Archbishop Mitty High School. Due to an ACL injury, Scott sat out the majority of her senior year at Mitty. Although the ACL injury kept her out of preseason practices with the Broncos when she arrived, Scott returned later in the year to become a part of the Bronco's rotation. She averaged 16.6 minutes per game during a stretch in December of 2010 and played in 23 of 30 games as a true freshman.

Prior to last season, Scott tore her Achilles and was not able to play. Since then, she has been working hard to be able to get back on the court to play as a Bronco. For this upcoming season, Scott is almost ready to bring her "A game" on to the court. Scott (IS) shared with SantaClaraBroncos.com (SCB) what her recovery process has been like and how much she looks forward to playing with the team again.

SCB: How's your summer been? How's your recovery process?

IS:
My summer has been very good. I took a week off to spend time with my family. I went to L.A. and San Diego. Other than that, I have been working out every week, trying to do rehab for my injuries so that I can get back soon. I've been doing extra work to get ready.

SCB: Are you 100% ready yet?

IS:
I'm not 100% yet. I still have some work to do. My calf is not there yet, but definitely on its way. I am almost there.

SCB: What are you most excited about for this year's season?

IS:
Just getting back. It's been a long journey. I can't wait to be able to play with these girls again.

SCB: Any personal goals?

IS:
Personal goal is just to get back on the court. It's been a long time. I tore my ACL during my senior year in high school. That was a long recovery process. And this past year, I tore my Achilles. It's been over a year now. I should've been back, but it's just a long process. I just want to get back and play.

SCB: What are your expectations from your teammates?

IS:
My expectation from everyone is to play to their potential. Have confidence. Go all out. We are a very good team. I expect everybody to be ready and get on the ball.

SCB: Any message to the SCU community?

IS:
Come support our team at our games!

GO BRONCOS!
