SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's and women's golf teams have traveled to Oahu, Hawaii to participate in the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational. The tournament will run Monday through Wednesday, November 2-4. Both teams will play 18 holes each day.

Men's Team
The Broncos will play rounds one and two on the 7,218-yard, par-72 Arnold Palmer Course. Final-round play will take place on the 6,535-yard, par-72 George Fazio Course Wednesday. Eleven teams will participate in the international event, including Osaka Gakuin of Japan, and British Columbia of Canada. The Broncos placed 14th in last year's tournament and were led by Jimmy Cacho who placed 18th overall.

Santa Clara is in the midst of an outstanding fall season. The Broncos have placed in the top-10 in all four of its events and look to continue that string of success in Oahu. SCU finished in a tie for fifth at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate October, 26-27 with junior Scott Travers placing in the top-10 individually. Travers, who has placed in the top-10 of all four tournaments this season, is also ranked 70th in the nation by Golf Week. Sophomore Cory Mehl has placed in the top-20 in the Broncos' past two events and takes that momentum to the islands.

Women's Team
The Bronco women will also play rounds one and two on the 6,361-yard, par-72 Arnold Palmer, then complete the final round on the 6,261, par-72 George Fazio Course Wednesday. Eighteen teams will play in the women's tournament. Three own top-10 nation rankings: UCLA, USC, and California. This is the inaugural event for the women's side for this tournament.

The Broncos placed fourth at the Firestone Grill Invitational in their lone tournament appearance this season back on October 5-6. Senior Erin Sullivan led the Broncos with a top-10 finish and sophomore Tammy Surtees and junior Miki Ueoka finished in the top-20. This tournament is a homecoming for three of the five Bronco women playing in the event. Ueoka, Surtees, and senior Jamie Nonaka are all from the Hawaiian Islands.
