SANTA CLARA, Calif - Miki Ueoka finished in the top 20 as the Santa Clara women's golf team concluded its 2009 fall season at the 2009 Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational in Kahuku, HI.
The Hawaiian native, Ueoka, was the first SCU women's golfer to qualify for the NCAA Regionals and helped the Broncos take two team titles a year ago. Ueoka won three individual tournaments last season and posted the lowest round ever by an SCU women's golfer at the Fresno-State Classic with an astounding score of 68. Ueoka continues to accumulate awards as the first Bronco women's golfer named to the National Golf Coaches' Association All-West Region Team.
Sophomore Tammy Surtees carded a first round 75 and finished 47th overall in Kahuku. Surtees had previously earned three top 20 finishes during her freshman season and finished 13th overall at the Firestone Grill Invitational back in October.
