Women's Water Polo Drops Matches to Redlands, UC Davis

DAVIS, Calif. - Santa Clara women's water polo lost two matches this afternoon at Hickey Pool, falling to Redlands 5-1 and host UC Davis 14-1. The Broncos fall to 3-9 on the season.

Sophomore Becky Hong scored the Broncos lone goal in the opener, netting a fourth-quarter score. Down 1-0 at the half, Santa Clara to not overcome two goals in each of the third and fourth periods, one in each by Redlands' Roz McCree.

Hong was also the long goal scorer for the Broncos in the second game against UC Davis, recording her 13 goal of the season, and is now tied with senior Kim Yost for the team's leading goal scorers this season.

Ten different Aggies recorded goals for UC Davis.

Senior Sarah Peterson posted four saves in each of the losses.

The Broncos return to Davis next weekend to take part in the Davis Shootout. Tournament opponents and match times for the March 10-11 invitational have not yet been released.
