Women's Water Polo Falls Twice at Davis Shootout

DAVIS, Calif. - Santa Clara women's water polo fell to Brown 9-2 in the second day of action at the Davis Shootout, held at Hickey Pool this morning. With a 6-4 loss to UC Santa Cruz later in the afternoon, the Broncos fall to 3-13 on the season.

Bronco sophomores Becky Hong and Elizabeth Glotzbach each scored one goal in the morning loss to Brown while senior Sarah Peterson registered one save in goal.

Glotzbach added two more goals in the afternoon match, while sophomore Carly Carpenter and junior Sara Schmitt added scores as well. Peterson recorded six blocks to lead Santa Clara defensively.

The Broncos head to Claremont next weekend to take part in the Claremont Tournament March 17-18. Santa Clara will open the weekend against Bucknell on Saturday morning at 11:45. The loser of that contest will play again at 3:30 p.m. while the winner will see more action at 4:45.
