The Santa Clara track team will travel to Stanford and San Francisco State on Friday for track competition.  Santa Clara will compete against six other West Coast Conference schools at the SF State Invitational.

Senior Erin McCarthy will be the lone Bronco competing at the Stanford meet on Friday.  McCarthy will run in the 1500m.  She has set the school record in the 800m and the 1500m this season.

Competing with Santa Clara at the meet in San Francisco will be Pepperdine, LMU, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, Gonzaga and Portland.

Bronco head coach Felipe Montoro is excited about competing this weekend after basically three weeks off from competition due to finals and the Fresno State Invitational being cancelled last weekend due to weather.

"We are really excited about competing this weekend.  This should be a really competitive meet for us and we are really looking forward to it," said Montoro.  "We are looking for Erin to continue well again this weekend at Stanford. It will be a good challenge for her."

Sunny skies and mild temperatures are expected both in Palo Alto and San Francisco, something the Broncos are looking forward to after a rainy month of March. "We have 300 days of sunshine here in the South Bay so we are ok, but it will be nice to run in mild conditions this weekend," added Montoro.  "We are also looking forward to running against so many WCC teams here in the Bay Area. We normally don't see them until the unofficial WCC meet in May."
