Joseph Greenbach (1929-2017), Santa Clara Hall of Famer, Passes Away

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Former Santa Clara men's basketball player Joe Greenbach died last week after a prolonged illness.

Greenbach played for the Broncos from 1947-50 and averaged 9.9 points per game as a senior. He was inducted into the Santa Clara Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998.

After his Bronco career, Greenbach was drafted by the then-Washington Capitals of the NBA.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy, children, Dan Greenbach, Kim Jones ( husband Brian), Mylie Greenbach, Tami Adam (husband Jim), Matt Mattox (wife Susan), Jennifer Oines (husband Leif), 11 grandchildren, Weston Greenbach, Grace Greenbach, Kyle Adam, Danielle Adam Tuhy (husband Steve), Fletcher Adam, Joe Adam, Tom Jones, Mike Jones, Austin Mattox, Molly Mattox, Ellie Mattox, two great grandchildren Danika Tuhy and Jocelyn Joy Tuhy, and his sister Gloria Kennett plus many nieces and nephews.
