SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University men's rowing team member Sean Eirich is one of 300 student-athletes from across the country to be selected for the fifth annual NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference to be held May 28-June 30 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Eirich, a junior from Chicago, Ill., was selected from a field of 1,084 nominees for the prestigious conference.

The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity for a group of the nation's top student-athletes to enhance their leadership and communication skills while participating in activities that will enable them to be better leaders on their respective campuses and in their communities.

Eirich has taken on an active leadership role on the SCU campus and in the community. He sits on the Student-Athlete Leadership Committee and maintains a 3.4 grade point average in Accounting. He is a member of the Bronco men's crew that successfully competed in last weekend's WIRA Championships.

Also nominated from Santa Clara were women's basketball player Carolina Gruening, women's soccer player Emma Borst and men's soccer player Jamil Walker.
