SANTA CLARA, Calif. -

Santa Clara's Oct. 15 men's soccer showdown with West Coast Conference rival Portland was rated the most anticipated match by fans at www.collegesoccer.com.

Twenty-eight percent of fans answered the Broncos/Pilots match was the game they'd most like to attend in all of Division I men's soccer. Duke's Sept. 2 visit to Connecticut was second, garnering 23 percent of the vote, while UCLA's match at Indiana, also on Sept. 2, placed third, with 21.4 percent of the vote.

Santa Clara, the 1999 NCAA runner-up, opens its season at Sacramento State on Friday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m. The Broncos' home schedule begins with the Santa Clara adidas Classic. Missouuri at Kansas City, San Francisco and California will compete at Buck Shaw Stadium Sept. 21 and 23.
