SANTA CLARA, Calif.
 – Santa Clara men's water polo held its annual golf tournament on May 9, 2016, at the Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club. Proceeds from the event in nearby Palo Alto California, directly benefit the men's water polo program. There were a total of 140 participants broken up into 35 foursomes and the Broncos raised $39,430. All participants were alumni or friends of Santa Clara water polo.

"Our fifth annual Bronco Invitational Golf Tournament was another great success," said Santa Clara head coach Keith Wilbur. "I would like to thank all the alumni, families, and friends of Santa Clara water polo for coming out and making this such a fun day. Whether they played in the tournament or volunteered to help run it, there were a lot of people enjoying a day of golf and celebration, and it is great to catch up with so many people that support water polo at Santa Clara. We have great sponsors who make this a really classy event, enabling us to give the golfers gear, golf balls, cover heads, lunch, dinner, and chance at a car for a hole-in-one. Most importantly, I want to thank Scott Pritchett who works tirelessly year round to make this such a great event.  He has the knowledge, energy, and connections to make this all work, and we could not do it without him."

The event was emceed by Bay Area golf personality Mitch Juricich of television's "Hooked on Golf".

After the round of golf, there was a cocktail hour with a silent auction. There was also a dinner with prizes for longest drive, closest to the hole, lowest score, raffle winners, and a live auction that included rounds at some of the best golf courses in the Bay Area, a house in Tahoe for a week, and a signed pictured by two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry.  With Juricich guiding the event's auction and dinner program portions, the crowd of over 160 was entertained while raising funds for a great cause. Thanks to title sponsor Gidel & Kocal Construction and 24 other generous supporters, the Broncos were able to donate $15,000 of the net proceeds back to the men's water polo endowment fund.
