SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's water polo continues a stretch of 11 straight games away from home when it faces Fresno Pacific Thursday in the Western Water Polo Association opener for both teams.

The Broncos (3-2) posted a 3-1 record at the Princeton Invitational, including wins in their final two games.

Junior Graham McClone is the team's leading scorer with 14 goals and freshman Mac Carey, who earned WWPA co-Player of the Week Wednesday, is second with 13.

Freshman goalie Keaton Fox has started all five games in net and posted at least eight blocks in four.

Last year, the Broncos knocked off Fresno Pacific, 9-7, in Santa Clara in the regular season and then outlasted the Sunbirds (1-1) by an 11-10 score in the WWPA Tournament.

"It's a little early in the season for a conference game, but that's how the schedule worked out," head coach Keith Wilbur said. "The guys know this is an important game and it's a tough environment in Fresno."

In the four games at Princeton, the Broncos averaged more than 12 goals per game and kept the opponent in single digits in three.

"We just have to come back focused and hopefully build off last weekend where we got better each game," Wilbur said.

The Broncos also have two more games slated for Saturday in the Aggie Roundup at UC Davis. They play Pacific at 8:20 a.m. and Cal at 3 p.m.
