Beach Volleyball Travels South to Face Utah, Cal Poly

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- The Santa Clara University beach volleyball will head to San Luis Obispo, Wednesday to take on Utah and Cal Poly at the Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex.

NOTES

Santa Clara Beach split in its two matches at the Big West Coast Classic, Saturday, March 4th, defeating Sacramento State, 3-2, before falling to UC Davis, 4-1, at Main Beach.
The Broncos split on Opening Day on Saturday, sweeping Pacific, 5-0, and narrowly falling to host San Jose State, 3-2.
Senior Julia Sangiacomo was named to the 2023 West Coast Conference Preseason Beach Volleyball Team.
The squad is made up of 14 players with seven returners and eight first-year players.
- Returners include: Alexia Gallegos, Julia Sangiacomo, Jordan Bennett, Claire Doud, Elena Radeff, Alexia Epstein, and Nicole Robinson.
- First-year players include: freshmen Hailey Benesz, Ella Duffner, Hayley Hahn, Caroline Kedeshian, and Katie Kishton- redshirt freshmen Casey Campbell and Elyse Erickson
Back in November, Jordan Bennett and Nicole Robison represented Santa Clara at the 2022 American Volleyball Coaches Association Fall Pairs National Championship. Bennett and Robison competed in six matches over three days, including multiple matches against pairs from top-20 ranked programs.
The first action of the 2022-23 season was in October 2022, sending two pairs to the Sand Court Experts Collegiate West Coast Pairs Championships at Manhattan Beach. Casey Campbell and Alexie Epstein teamed up, and Claire Doud and Kathrine Kishton partnered for the Broncos, the tournament included pairs from every top-20 ranked program on the West Coast.
